Home Buying Process

Buying a home is likely the biggest purchase you’ll ever make. So take the time, be diligent, and understand the various stages of the buying process. Saratoga works with its buyers to ensure that every step of the way is made easy. Be sure to read the following helpful tips to guide you through your buying process.

Decide your current living arrangements are no longer meeting your needs.
Discuss with your support group how you should alleviate the problem.
If the solution includes moving, start discussing if buying or renting is the best option.
If you discover that buying is the single greatest investment you may ever make you then will have to decide where the best area to relocate is.
Decide on a couple of ideal locations based on schools, work commute, etc.
Research what builders currently have homes in your ideal areas.
Research the builders on your list.
Visit model homes for the builders on your list.
Carefully view the homes and make a list of "needs" and "wants" as well as a list of "must have" and "would like to have."
Consider bedrooms, bathrooms, levels, size of yard, location of home with regards to location on the block (corner, interior lot or cul-de-sac).
Continue to keep in mind the lists you created earlier.
Consult your Saratoga Homes Sales Manager regarding preliminary financing information, options and current builder specials.
Using the information the Sales Manager provided you regarding financing and the most likely home price a mortgage lender is likely to lend, you must then decide on the winning existing home or floor plan to be built.
The Saratoga Homes Sales Manager will help you reserve the home of your dreams by completing some basic paperwork that will take the home off the market while you meet with our preferred lender or the lender of your choice.
As your loan is being processed by the lender you will be asked to visit the home as it's being completed.
Once your home is completed and your loan is ready you will then be asked to participate in a formal home orientation at the home.
